Finally a blue Island

An overcast day in Gilbert AZ
is perfect for a little paint project.  My kitchen island is overdue for a makeover.

Using my handy power drill, I removed all 3 doors.  Then I cleaned the whole island with an all purpose cleaner.
I tape my tile flooring and removed the 2 outlet covers, to paint them as well.   Robins egg blue has always been my favorite color.

I used Behr premium plus (combined paint and primer) in opal silk.  I used a high density roller 6" x 12".  I applied 3 coats (waiting 1 hour in between) then on the last one, I was careful using light pressure.
I sanded light around the corners to apply a dark stain min wax wood finish in Jacobean (2750).

 I also added some
stain all over the cabinets then wiped off, leaving more on the edges and beveled frames. Notice how I also stained  the outlet cover.

The island looks really fabulous and only took a few hours to do this.  I really enjoyed this little project!
